It can be confusing to pick the \u201cright\u201d AI model.\u00a0 However, when you break it down, it\u2019s not that hard to choose the right tool. \u00a0To start, here is a thoughtful article from Ethan Mollick on the topic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To me, the choice boils down to three \u201chow much\u201d questions:<\/p>\n

  1. How much time<\/strong> do you want to invest in learning new tools?<\/li>\n
  2. How much money<\/strong> do you want to invest in AI tools?<\/li>\n
  3. How much do you care about<\/strong> privacy policies, model personality, product safety\u2026?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    There\u2019s one other question which is: \u201cwhat task do you want to do with the AI?\u201d My assumption, for what I need to do, is that all of the major LLMs are sufficient for my needs.<\/p>\n

    So, the way that I answer the \u201chow much\u201d questions is:<\/p>\n

    1. I think mastery of one tool is better than surface knowledge of five,<\/li>\n
    2. I don\u2019t want to pay for multiple subscriptions, and<\/li>\n
    3. I don\u2019t have deep feelings about privacy, personality, et cetera that would make me chose one tool over another.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
